1. Move On From Kirk Hinrich

With Atlanta spending the rent money and then some on Dwight Howard and Kent Bazemore, they need to sign some quality bench players who can contribute, possibly on a minimum salary.

With these two signings, Atlanta has played their hand, going all in on a frontcourt of Howard and Paul Millsap. Now they have to fill out the rest of the roster with role players that can produce.

Kirk Hinrich is not one of these players. At 35 years of age, Hinrich is well and truly past his prime. He played 11 games for the Hawks after coming from Chicago, averaging 0.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

Hinrich made $2.9 million last season and for this level of production that was way too expensive. With the expanding salary cap this season, Hinrich will become even more expensive and Atlanta simply cannot afford this.

Atlanta has a number of experienced players. Paul Millsap and Tiago Splitter are 31 and Kyle Korver is 35, so not even the experience factor can save Hinrich on this roster.

Hinrich does have good career numbers of 10.9 points, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game, but these days are long past. Hinrich needs to play in a lesser league. The Atlanta Hawks need to let him go.
