5 Roster Moves The Brooklyn Nets Need To Make
2. Sign Luol Deng
Luol Deng is probably going to be squeezed out of the Miami Heat roster given that they may have to offer Dwyane Wade and Hassan Whiteside max contracts this year.
This would work really well for Brooklyn if they could land the two-time All-Star. Deng has some impressive numbers — in his 823 career games, Deng has averaged 35.3 minutes, 15,5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
What Brooklyn could do with such an all-around talent! The man is only 30 years old, he will be looking for his last big contract and the Brooklyn Nets certainly have the cap space to provide him with a nice plump pay packet.
Deng’s skill sets would complement that of franchise player Brook Lopez. Lopez is a scorer, a shot-blocker and a rebounding center. Deng shoots at 45 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the three point arc.
Deng would be a good floor spacer and he can shoot well from the floor, which would allow Lopez more space inside to work against the opposing center.
One thing is for sure, Deng would not be a step backward for the Brooklyn Nets. He would be a good player to bridge the gap for the next 3-4 years until Brooklyn can start to be active in the draft again.
Next: Sign Bazemore (Whoops!)
