Wizards Rumors: 3 Players Being Targeted In Free Agency
Al Horford
This is a move that would benefit the Wizards in more ways than one. Not only would Al Horford improve their team, it would weaken the team for one of their rivals; the Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks have some big free agent decisions to make this summer and if the Wizards can put the press on Horford in free agency they could pry one of the key cogs from the Hawks away from them.
Horford would be a perfect fit for the Wizards no matter the scheme that Brooks is going to implement offensively. He is athletic enough to get into the open court with a speedster like Wall and versatile enough to play in the half court as well.
He has played center with the Hawks, but with Marcin Gortat occupying that spot with the Wizards, he could move back to his more natural power forward spot. But, no matter where the Wizards would decide to use him, Horford is versatile enough that he can adapt to different roles.
Horford has extended his range out to the three-point line offensively, shooting 34.4 percent last season and making 1.1 threes per game.
While he wouldn’t stretch the floor as much as someone like Ryan Anderson, he would provide more defensively, as Horford averaged 1.5 blocks per game last season compared to 0.4 for Anderson.

Horford would be an excellent addition to the Wizards, but like the other players on this list, will not be an easy acquisition. There will be plenty of teams lining up to sign Horford, as he will likely take home a max, or near max contract, at some point this summer.
