The opening of free agency is almost here, but we have yet another trade on our hands, which involves two very active teams.

In a deal first reported by Shams Charania of The Vertical, the Detroit Pistons have sent Jodie Meeks to the Orlando Magic for a 2019 second-round pick.

Although he only had one year left on his current contract, shipping off Meeks opens up some more cap space for the Pistons in free agency, but they also lose someone who could have helped their bench woes.

For Orlando, acquiring Meeks gives them some much needed shooting off the bench, but adds another backcourt player as well as some added money on their books.
