5 Roster Moves The Cleveland Cavaliers Need To Make
3. Get Mo Williams To Opt In
Unfortunately for Cleveland, I think that they are going to lose Matthew Dellavedova. Dellavedova has played extremely well for this franchise, stepping up in the 2015 playoffs and at the start of the season due to the Kyrie Irving knee injury.
If James and Smith opt in, then Cleveland is already pretty close to $100 million in contracts on the books. Considering the salary cap is reportedly $94 million, I can’t see Dellavedova fitting in.

He also played better than a minimum-contract type of guard all season.
This means that Mo Williams becomes the player that the Cleveland front office probably envisioned him becoming before the start of last season, the backup point guard.
Now there were some contributing factors to him going third on the depth chart, he did have a thumb injury that kept him out for a period of time and Dellavedova simply outplayed him when Irving was still injured.
Williams is still a class act at the age of 33. He is just two seasons removed from averaging 17.2 points and 6.0 assists per game for the Charlotte Hornets.
Last season with less playing time and health issues, Williams still managed to average 8.2 points and 2.4 assists per contest.
