4. Sign A Short-Term Forward

Until Detroit’s plethora of young forwards are ready to take the next step in the NBA, the team needs to sign some experience for the bench who know how to be successful. Detroit also wants players who do not take second best as OK.

Reggie Bullock has only had three years in the league, Stanley Johnson just finished his rookie year. New draftee Henry Ellenson will take some time to adapt to the league, especially with his defense.

More from Detroit Pistons

I would look at signing players like Udonis Haslem, currently playing for the Miami Heat.

My guess is that he is going to be squeezed out of Miami with the max contract that is going to have to be offered to Hassan Whiteside and will either be looking for a minimum contract with the Heat or possibly more playing time with another team.

Haslem has been part of a winning culture with Miami and bringing this sort of player to Detroit to teach the younger Pistons how to win would be a smart move.

The other player who I think should be part of any team is Matt Barnes of the Memphis Grizzlies. I love his no excuse, hard nose sort of play. He takes no prisoners and plays like it is going to be his last game. If any of this rubs off on the younger players, Detroit basketball will only benefit.
