1. Sign Dwight Howard

I know that Dwight Howard‘s star power dipped a bit from his time with the Houston Rockets but the man is still a star player. He is still one of the best centers of this generation and on a team like Denver, he would shine again.

Howard had one of his worst offensive seasons of his career, but it seems that anyone who plays with James Harden collects career lows, just ask Ty Lawson.

If the team embraces Howard’s skill set, scoring, rebounding, blocking shots, they will be a much better team for it.

Denver has gone for floor spacing in this draft, trying to get shooters. They are going to need a presence in the middle for offensive rebounding and second chance points.

Playing with Mudiay, Gallinari, Will Barton and Kenneth Faried, Howard adds a strength in the middle that Nikola Jokic can not.

It would mean that Denver would have to trade one of their young centers but losing Joffrey Lauvergne or Jusuf Nurkic would be palatable to get someone like Howard.

Howard is also trying to revitalize his career after Houston so will not be able to ask for the max contract, leaving some room for others to be signed.
