The Denver Nuggets finished just outside the playoffs, which is a little surprising considering that Wilson Chandler was out for the season and Danilo Gallinari missed 29 games with injury as well. Here are five roster moves the Denver Nuggets need to make

The Denver Nuggets were not a bad team last year, they finished equal tenth with the Sacramento Kings. They did it without Wilson Chandler, who missed the entire season after hip surgery, and Danilo Gallinari missed 29 games with an ankle injury.

The team from the mountains were slightly rewarded for their mediocre season and good trade acumen with three first round draft picks.

In an effort to rebuild around future franchise cornerstone Emmanuel Mudiay, they drafted Jamal Murray, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Kentucky with the seventh pick. Apart from his defense, which he will need to work on, he is a born floor spacer with a great shooting touch.

With the 15th pick, Denver did it again with an overseas player. 6-foot-9 Juan Hernangomez was the Spanish League’s Young Player of the Year last year, mixing it with older, more mature bodies as well as spacing the floor with his long-range shooting.

Denver obviously sees shooting guard as a position of need because with the 19th pick the Nuggets took 6-foot-5 Malik Beasley from Florida State. I think he might be either insurance for Murray or trade bait but another good floor spacing shooter here.

What Denver desperately needs is a star player who can bring them back into relevance. Carmelo Anthony was that player until he went to the New York Knicks.

The future is bright in Denver, here are five more roster moves they need to make.
