5 Roster Moves The Los Angeles Clippers Need To Make
3. Re-Sign Luc Mbah a Moute
Every team has an underrated player. It is usually the defensive stopper and this is what Mbah a Moute is.
The Clippers signed Mbah a Moute at the start of the year, where he replaced Matt Barnes in the starting lineup.
Mbah a Moute had the worst offensive output for his entire career, only scoring 3.1 points per game. He has never been a good scorer though; he has a career average of 6.3 points per game.
Fortunately the Clippers do not need his offense with Paul, Griffin, Jordan, Redick, Green and Crawford all averaging more than 10 points per game.
Mbah a Moute has made a career for himself defending the opposition small forward or shooting guard and with some of the more dominant forces at small forward, his talents are required.
The Clippers have no other player with the ability to defend Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James or Paul George.
Paul Pierce would have been their only other option but his age is starting to show and he is talking about retirement. Mbah a Moute is as critical to the championship run as any player except perhaps Chris Paul.
