5. Cheick Diallo

There’s a good change this rarely used Kansas product will be gone by the time the Suns are on the clock for the third time, but if Cheick Diallo is still available, he’d be one of the few non-draft-and-stash targets worth investing in.

His numbers in his lone season with the Jayhawks — 3.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 7.5 minutes per game — are hardly indicative of a first round pick, but this 19-year-old impressed at the NBA Draft Combine and has a fair amount of potential on the defensive end.

A 6’9″ power forward with a 9’0″ standing reach and 7’5″ wingspan, Diallo has the length and athleticism to bolster a spot of need for the Suns, even if he’s nowhere near being NBA-ready at the moment.

Diallo still has plenty to work on. He needs to get stronger, he doesn’t have great hands and calling his offensive game “raw” would be a compliment.

But without a single power forward on the books heading into the 2016-17 season, the Suns should view Diallo as a no-brainer if he’s still available because of his high motor, solid rebounding skills and shot-blocking ability.
