Toronto Raptors

Picks Owned: 9, 27

The Toronto Raptors are coming off of their best season in franchise history, and also face the biggest offseason in franchise history. DeMar DeRozan has a non-guaranteed contract for the 2016-17 season, which means he could get paid this summer and possibly leave Toronto.

The Raptors also hold the ninth overall pick and a late first-round pick that could be used to add to their rotation.

Toronto needs to focus on building the frontcourt with their draft picks. They will get to pick from the cream of the crop of power forwards with their lottery pick. Henry Ellenson, Skal Labissiere and center Jacob Poeltl could all be available and become major factors on next season’s team.

Poeltl may be the most intriguing prospect for the Raptors. With Bismack Biyombo likely lost to free agency this summer, Poeltl would be a great backup to Jonas Valanciunas. Poeltl’s 7-foot-1 frame allows him to protect the rim, rebound and get good looks in the post.

Labissiere and Ellenson both have good offensive games that allow them to excel in the pick-and-roll game, and play face-up to the basket. Their athleticism makes them versatile defenders that can protect the rim or play out on the perimeter.

The Raptors need to address their frontcourt in some way. They are going to get a good player to add to their rotations, regardless of who they select. Their best bet will be improving their roster through their bench, while extending DeRozan to keep their formidable backcourt in tact.
