Detroit Pistons

Picks Owned: 18, 48

The Detroit Pistons made their offseason acquisition at the trade deadline by dealing for Tobias Harris, which helped push them into the NBA Playoffs for the first time in seven years.

With Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Stanley Johnson and Harris all returning next season, the Pistons will look to add to their young core.

Backups Steve Blake and Anthony Tolliver will be free agents this summer, which leaves a void at point guard and power forward. The 18th pick will need to address one of the two positions for the Pistons, and they are in a good position to do that.

At 18, the Pistons are looking at having Wade Baldwin IV, Tyler Ulis, Demetrius Jackson, Domantas Sabonis and Brice Johnson being available. In total, there are 10 prospects that the Pistons could go after to add depth to their rotations.

They have had success in recent drafts, and need to continue to do so. Part of their success includes finding second round picks that develop into good rotational players. Darrun Hilliard has been part of that success, and there are some solid prospects that they can develop in this year’s draft.

The key for the Pistons is going to be hitting on a prospect with their first round pick that can help their rotation. Detroit has a solid core of players, but their rotation must improve.
