4. Get a specialist perimeter shooter

Toronto is served reasonably well on the perimeter. Lowry is a 39 percent shooter and he took the most shots for Toronto from outside the arc, making 212-of-546. Carroll is also reliable when he makes it on the court, being another 39 percent three-point shooter, making 46-of-118.

Of the bench unit, Patterson shot 36 percent (106-of-297) and Terrence Ross shot a healthy 39 percent (131-of-338).

Three players with above-average perimeter shooting who could help Toronto here are Matthew Dellavedova. who in 76 games shot a healthy 41 percent (98-of-240). Dellavedova also offers excellent perimeter defense and good ball handling.

Dellavedova is a restricted free agent. but for the right price could move from Cleveland.

Another restricted free agent is Seth Curry. who in 43 games made 45 percent of his three-point shots (50-of-111). Sacramento did not give Curry much of an opportunity last season, but the younger Curry had a really good end of the season.

Evan Fournier had an extremely good season for Orlando. In 79 games, he made 40 percent of his three point shots (156-of-389). Although he is an restricted free agent, Fournier might be a little cautious of Orlando after the mid-season trade of Tobias Harris to Detroit.

While only Dellavedova is playing on a contending team right now, if Cleveland does not win the championship, there is a possibility that they could lose LeBron James. If this happens then Dellavedova is no longer playing on a contending team.

Toronto will be back in the playoffs next year. One of these players could take them into the Finals.
