Draft Projection: Top 10

Much could change between now and June 23, but the general consensus about Buddy Hield is that he’s one of the Top 10 prospects in the 2016 NBA Draft. His ceiling is a divisive topic, but there’s a general belief that he’s a safe prospect.

Chances are, Hield will come off the board in the 6-to-10 range.

It’s entirely possible that Hield could crack the Top 5, as only Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram can be accurately described as Top 5 locks. Dragan Bender, Jaylen Brown, Kris Dunn, and Jamal Murray are generally ranked higher than Hield, but anything is possible on draft night.

If a team believes that Hield can become a star under the current climate of the NBA, then he’ll most certainly be in play in the Top 5.

The Boston Celtics at No. 3 could be an option, as could the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 5. The more likely destinations are the New Orleans Pelicans at No. 6, Denver Nuggets at No. 7, Sacramento Kings at No. 8, and Toronto Raptors at No. 9.

All things considered, Hield will likely come off the board in the Top 8.
