Philadelphia 76ers: Figuring out the Bigs

With the news coming out that the Sixers will look to explore deals for both Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel, according to ESPN, this shouldn’t be much of a surprise. There are too many forwards and centers on the roster.

Okafor and Noel are joined by Joel Embiid, Richaun Holmes, Jeremi Grant and Robert Covington. Dario Saric was drafted 12th overall in the 2014 draft and he will join the roster after spending two seasons overseas. That adds up to … too many forwards and bigs with not enough guards.

On top of those major pieces, the team will decide between Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram on June 23. Both are forwards as well. The Sixers also own the 24th and 26th overall picks. General manager Bryan Colangelo almost HAS to use those selections on guard talent.

Either way, the Sixers will look to build a more competitive team than the last few seasons in the wake of the Sam Hinkie resignation. The No. 1 pick will be helpful, but in order to make a playoff push, big moves will be made, starting with possible trades of Okafor or Noel.
