Draft Projection

Jaylen Brown is going to be one of the Top 10 selections in the 2016 NBA Draft. His draft stock is much more solid than Justise Winslow‘s was in 2015, which suggests that he’s a safe bet to come off the board much earlier than No. 10.

Brown could go as high as No. 3, and it’s hard to imagine his falling any further than No. 8.

Brown has an elite physical profile for a shooting guard, and the quintessential build for a small forward. He’s a powerful athlete who can overwhelm opponents in transition, and has shown immense potential as a slasher.

Even in a modern NBA that depends upon the 3-point field goal, general managers aren’t ignorant to the critical value of players who can get to the basket.

The Boston Celtics at No. 3 and Phoenix Suns at No. 4 are both in play, and the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 5 value upside. The New Orleans Pelicans need a complementary star to Anthony Davis at No. 6, and the Denver Nuggets at No. 7 need a developable scorer.

Considering the Sacramento Kings simply need talent at No. 8, it’s hard to imagine Brown slipping any further than Dave Joerger’s crew.
