The Detroit Pistons have made the playoffs for the first time since 2008-09. That’s quite the accomplishment for a team that has a number of moving pieces, and a franchise player who’s only 22 years old.

Despite it being early in his NBA career, Drummond is already one of the best players in the game.

Drummond is the single most dominant rebounder in the NBA today. He controls the boards on both ends, which resulted in his leading the league in rebounds, offensive rebounds, and rebound percentage.

The latter is a measurement of how many possible rebounds a player comes up with, and Drummond was just shy of an absurd 25 percent.

Furthermore, Drummond has refined his offensive game to the point of being able to create his own offense. His drop step is paralyzing, and his explosive athleticism enables the Pistons’ prized big man to exploit openings.

Drumond’s free throws are still an overwhelming issue, but he’s become an excellent player.
