Washington Wizards point guard John Wall dominates his competition and earns this week’s WizKid Player honor.

For the first time this year, the Washington Wizards showed fight in their quest to save their season. Winning four straight games is never easy. But it also helps when you have a All-Star point guard leading the charge for your team, which has John Wall earning Washington Wizards WizKid Player of the Week honors for games played last week.

It was a magnificent start for Wall and the Wizards, who decided to take aim at the Detroit Pistons first. By dishing out the ball effectively (34 assists) and limiting their turnovers (10), the Wizards scorched the Pistons en route to a 124-81 win. Wall was in control as he scored 15 points and moved the rock for 12 assists.

It was refreshing to see him not have to carry the load in all major statistic categories. A night of many to showcase his fantastic abilities.

Next up were the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers. This was where the great Wall decided to go back to back games with a triple-double. Wall stayed in cruise control shooting 11-for-19 against the Bulls. Although he was less than perfect against the 76ers (4-of -17), he still managed to help his still secure a win that almost slipped away from them.

Wall then led his team in a rally against the New York Knicks on Saturday night. His stamp was put on the game with 24 points and 10 assists. This was another game that could’ve gotten away from them and instead he got his team not quit on itself. It was great to see the resolve the team has shown with their best player leading the way and not willing to be walked all over.

Not only has Wall earned this honor on the court he deserved it with his generosity off the hardwood as well. Last Wednesday, Wall and the rest of the Wizards volunteered to help the Special Olympics Unified Game. Of course NBA players volunteer in the community all the time, it showed class and commitment to take part in a project such as this one, an experience that can merge Wall and his team closer together.

Not to mention showing off his dance moves.

Wall displayed his talents on all fronts this past week. Showing his team he was ready to lead them into battle. And also showed he is a man of integrity by volunteering for a great cause. It it these reasons why the term WizKid is a great honor next to his name.
