Ranking The Top NBA Players By Age: Age 24
15. Dwight Powell
Maybe this is a bit high for a system player like Dwight Powell, who has mostly come into his own by the grace of playing for a head coaching warlock like Rick Carlisle. But the two-way energy he provides off the Dallas Mavericks‘ bench is all Dwight Powell, and that continuous effort is precisely why Carlisle should consider pulling him back into the rotation.
Over the last eight games, Powell has played a grand total of 13 minutes. His playing time has been trending in the wrong direction for more than a month, but he’s still averaging a respectable 6.1 points and 4.2 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game while shooting 49.4 percent from the floor.
Powell is not a great defender and he’s limited offensively, but he’s also got a great attitude, he works hard, he’s only 24 years old and he’s only been in the league for two years. Give him some time to develop and his gravity-defying dunks will become a more frequent occurrence on the nightly highlight reels.
