14. Terrence Jones

Once upon a time, it seemed like Terrence Jones was poised to join James Harden and Dwight Howard as the third member of the Houston Rockets‘ new Big Three. But injuries and being reduced to a bench role have shattered that pipe dream, with Jones looking like a shell of his former self at this point.

In 2013-14, T-Jones averaged 12.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game (both career highs) while shooting 54.2 percent from the floor. The future looked bright since he was only 22 years old at the time. What was supposed to be his breakout campaign in 2014-15 was derailed by injury, with Jones only playing 35 games despite shooting a career-best 35.1 percent from three-point range.

This season, Jones has only played in 49 games with more injury problems and he’s failed to become the stretch-4 this Rockets team has been searching for for years now. He’s averaging 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in 21.1 minutes per game this season, shooting 45.2 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from downtown. Jones can be a productive role player, but nothing more.
