Ranking The Top NBA Players By Age: Age 23
18. Shabazz Muhammad
Can Shabazz Muhammad be a productive bench player in this league? That’s the question head coach Sam Mitchell and the Minnesota Timberwolves are currently trying to answer in Muhammad’s third season.
Unfortunately, Muhammad is experiencing something of a regression year after showing signs of promise as a sophomore, when he averaged 13.5 points in 22.8 minutes per game on efficient .489/.392/.717 shooting splits. This year, Muhammad’s numbers have dropped to 10.3 points in 20.9 minutes per game on a .457/.296/.788 slash line.
To be fair, Muhammad only played in 38 games last year, as opposed to 67 so far this season. But as of right now, Muhammad still has a long way to go in proving that he’s not only a trustworthy rotation player, but that he’s more than a poor man’s Michael Beasley.
