Thompson was the last player to be named Gunner of the Week, but he has been a common face on the list of candidates throughout the season. This year’s three-point shootout champion was a bit off from deep–speaking as if a shade under 40 percent is off– in their past three games, but still managed to fill the scoring column in each game.
Shockingly, the Warriors went 2-1 since Thursday, losing to the Trail Blazers as a player later on this list had a huge game. Thompson’s best performance came in a win over the Los Angeles Clippers when he went for 32 points, shooting 4-for-9 behind the arc.
The Warriors still sit atop of the NBA standings with a 50-5 record. They would have to finish 23-4 over the last 27 games to beat the all-time record of 72 wins in a season, which doesn’t seem too difficult for this dominant team. Similar to when they lost to Detroit earlier in the year, the loss against Portland will likely spark another rampage from Golden State. All we have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
