11. Jimmy Butler, Chicago Bulls

Last Rank: No. 9

Position: Shooting Guard

Age: 26

Slash Line: .458/.331/.827

Season Averages: 37.9 MPG, 22.4 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.3 APG, 1.7 SPG, 1.1 3PM

In the midst of a borderline superstar season, Jimmy Butler suffered an untimely setback. A knee injury projects to sideline the 26-year-old for three-to-four weeks, which will keep him out of the All-Star Game.

That’s an obvious red flag, but we’d be remiss to ignore how Butler has positioned himself as one of the best players in the NBA this season.

His ranking will suffer because of the injury, and a precaution was taken with his slip down the rankings. He’s played at a Top 10 level throughout the season, however, and his final performance before the injury was evidence enough of his sensational play thus far.

In his final performance before suffering the knee injury, Butler had 19 points in 18 minutes.

Chicago will be forced to compensate for Butler’s absence, and that promises to be an underwhelming endeavor. Butler is No. 10 in the NBA in Win Shares and No. 1 minutes played per game at 37.9.

Few players mean more to their team than Butler. Injury aside, a case could be made that no shooting guard has been better in 2015-16.
