19. Chicago Bulls: Kyle Anderson, UCLA

Original selection: 30th by the San Antonio Spurs

2015-16 statistics: 3.9 PPG 2.3 RPG 1.3 APG 12.93 PER

In high school, Kyle Anderson was ranked the No. 2 player in his class and the No. 1 small forward. In his freshman season at UCLA, Anderson posted impressive averages of 9.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in a very strict offense coached by Ben Howland.

He followed with averages of 14.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists throughout his sophomore campaign before declaring for the draft.

At 6’7,” Anderson’s value was rising after NBA teams evaluated him to play some minutes at the point guard position if they decided to draft him. The Spurs selected Anderson with the last pic of the first-round with what seemed to be a perfect fit.

Playing time for Anderson was scarce, but again, it seems hard to imagine a player as versatile as Anderson won’t eventually flourish on a team coached by Gregg Popovich.

The Bulls have been benefitting with Aaron Brooks’ services to provide scoring behind Derrick Rose, but Anderson could pitch in minutes at point guard, shooting guard, or small forward. The Bulls could use depth at all three positions and with Anderson’s potential as a playmaker, it would benefit both parties involved.
