20. Toronto Raptors: P.J. Hairston, North Carolina

Original Selection: 26th by the Miami Heat (traded to the Charlotte Hornets)

2015-16 statistics: 6.1 PPG 2.7 RPG 0.6 APG 7.58 PER

Coming out one of the pillars of college basketball in the University of North Carolina, P.J. Hairston came into the draft with caution tape wrapped around him after being dismissed from the school in 2013. After it was announced that UNC would not let the 6’6″ sharpshooter back to school, he filed to play in the D-League where he was acquired by the Texas Legends.

Hairston averaged 21.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game with the Legends before declaring for the NBA Draft.

Hairston’s shooting from long range hasn’t yet carried over into his NBA career, but he has still shown signs of being able to be a producer off the bench. He recently tied his career high of 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds in a win over the Knicks in late January.

For the fit in Toronto, Hairston could switch between the 2 and 3 and continue to be a threat to stretch the floor with an already solid three-point shooting roster.
