Redrafting The 1st Round Of The 2014 NBA Draft
14. Phoenix Suns: T.J. Warren, N.C. State
Original selection: 14th by the Phoenix Suns
2015-16 statistics: 11.0 PPG 3.1 RPG 0.9 APG 16.21 PER
Ironically, T.J. Warren is projected to go exactly where he was drafted. Coming out of N.C. State, Warren was named ACC Player of the Year after his sophomore season before declaring for the draft. At 6’8,” there were questions of whether or not he could switch to the small forward position after always being one of the bigger players on the floor during his collegiate career.
This has been a season to forget for Suns fans. Eyes are now set on getting the best possible draft pick in the lottery, and with a 14-37 record thus far, there is a good chance they will be awarded one of the high picks in the upcoming draft.
Warren was able to develop his game and become a great contributor as a starter for Phoenix this season, but bad news struck once again when he was announced to miss the rest of the season with a broken right foot on Feb. 2. Going forward, Warren will be an important piece in the recovering stages of the Suns.
