3. Chicago Bulls

Right now, the Chicago Bulls‘ backup point guards are Aaron Brooks and E’Twaun Moore. With Derrick Rose‘s injury history being the frighteningly long laundry list that it is, adding a quality backup like Jennings and bolstering the roster for a playoff run might not be the worst idea.

The Bulls have a logjam in the frontcourt, and Joakim Noah‘s absence for the next 4-6 months makes him virtually unwanted in the trade market. Noah is also a free agent this summer, which hurts his trade value even more. His injury also means the Bulls might be more hesitant to trade another member of the frontcourt, but dealing Taj Gibson would clear up more minutes for Nikola Mirotic and promising rookie Bobby Portis.

To be fair, head coach Fred Hoiberg has been playing Mirotic at the 3 a lot more, and with an extra year on Gibson’s contract, that might be a more team friendly option than overpaying for a starting-caliber point guard like Jennings as Chicago’s backup this summer.

Though Chicago would be unlikely to bite on a deal like this, the Pistons would probably enjoy a trade to bring in such a fierce defender, rebounder and all-around competitor like Gibson, who can also spread the floor moderately well from the midrange. Gibson doesn’t have three-point range, but trading Jennings would also free up more minutes for Spencer Dinwiddie, who’s been all but banished from Van Gundy’s rotation.
