5. Danilo Gallinari

Full disclosure: I love Danilo Gallinari. He’s been my favorite Denver Nuggets player since he got traded there from New York, I identify with his Italian roots and it’s a shame that Denver’s best shot at a deep playoff run in 2013 was derailed by his torn ACL.

But even for a guy who is no stranger to mohawks — and also sports the perfect nickname for a guy with a mohawk of “Gallo” (Italian for rooster) — Gallinari’s latest cut is still something I can’t get on board with.

You remember those days of mowing the lawn when your father would take a look afterwards and make you fire up the lawn mower again because you missed a random, rectangle-shaped strip of grass? It looks like Gallo peeled off that strip, dyed it brown and plopped it on his head.

Again, I have no problem with a mohawk, but Gallo needs a little less ‘hawk if the hair that he actually does have isn’t spiked up or something. In typical Italian fashion (I would know) there’s just too much hair gel going on and from the front, he looks like Lil and Phil from Rugrats.

You’re better than this, Gallo.
