Get a Starting Point Guard

It’s no coincidence that we were just talking about Deron Williams and how much fun he was to watch in Utah. Ironically enough, he was the last legitimate starting point guard for the franchise.

It’s time for management to finally make a decision with the point guards on their roster because Trey Burke, on one hand, has gradually gotten better as a player but he’s been mismanaged and overlooked. His production continues to rise, but yet his role seems to continue to diminish.

Burke is averaging 12 points on 43 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent from the three-point line. He’s also only playing 24 minutes a game while doing it. Instead, Burke has been pushed aside for the wonderful talents of Raul Neto this year and Dante Exum last year.

Utah has to make a decision on what guard they want to explore further because Burke has improved in each of his three seasons. Additionally, if management feels that neither of the two guards are truly NBA level talent then they need to bring someone who is.
