Find a No. 1 Option

The reason why it seems like a long time since Utah had a true franchise game-changer on their hands is because it’s really been a long time since they have had one. For decades now Utah hasn’t been able to find a replacement No. 1 option since Karl Malone.

The closest thing to a franchise player in Salt Lake City was watching Deron Williams become a monster and challenge Chris Paul as the best point guard in the NBA but you know how that story ends.

Since Williams forced a trade and wound up in New Jersey, Utah hasn’t been able to find a legit No. 1 player. That role is currently being occupied by Gordon Hayward and he’s done well. However, how good does he really make your team? This season with the injuries, Hayward will have to carry Utah into the playoffs, otherwise they’ll once again be selecting in the lottery.

He’s got all the ability in the world to do it, but we’ll find out if it’s in his makeup fairly soon.
