9. Fresh All-NBA First Team Faces

Anthony Davis wasn’t alone.

With every passing season, a new crop of players emerge in the star conversation. Not all break through, but new stars are either born or achieve borderline status.

In 2014-15, three broke through in a major way.

Marc Gasol has always had the respect of the masses, but he’d never been able to break through as a true NBA superstar. The same could be said for both Stephen Curry and Davis.

Together, Curry, Davis, and Gasol made up 60 percent of the All-NBA First Team in 2015.

That may seem like a rather pedestrian development, but it’s not. All three were making their first appearances on the All-NBA First Team, meaning that 60 percent of the most prestigious individual honor south of MVP was handed to fresh faces.

The last time that happened: 1998-99, when Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd and Alonzo Mourning were selected to the All-NBA First Team for the first time in their respective careers.
