5. Bulls vs. Pistons 1990

The mutual dislike between the Bulls and the Pistons helped shape one of the most fiercest rivalries in the NBA during the late 1980’s. And with Detroit having eliminated them in three consecutive playoff confrontations, the Bulls knew they would have to get past their division rivals in order to realize their championship aspirations.

These two teams had met one week prior, with the Pistons winning 107-86. In that game, Detroit asserted its dominance and were looking to do so again on Chicago’s home court.

However, that would not be the case as the upstart Bulls defeated the Pistons 98-86. Michael Jordan led the Bulls with 37 points on 14-for-23 shooting from the field to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The two teams would meet again in the conference finals, with the Bulls coming out on top this time in a four-game sweep.
