Carmelo Anthony

This is another interesting individual matchup between two of the greatest scorers the NBA has ever seen. Surprisingly, Melo has dominated this series 11-2, with most of his wins coming with his time as a member of the Denver Nuggets.

Since both players play the same position, a lot of these games had a lot of possessions where they had to guard each other, a tall task for any NBA player. Each player has had moments where they shine bright, but Anthony has been too much for Durant’s Thunder and Sonics teams to overcome.

Throughout these contests, Anthony has been a more efficient player and played a versatile role for his team, putting up numbers across the board. Melo has averaged 29 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals on 48.8 percent shooting, highlighted by his 38-point outburst during Durant’s rookie year in a loss to Seattle.

Although Durant has performed admirably, putting up impressive statistics with 27.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.2 steal per game; he has yet to solve the mystery that is defeating Anthony’s teams on a consistent basis.
