Paul George

In this 2013 matchup in Oklahoma City, George and Durant combined for a 68-point explosion that led to a 24-point Thunder win.

Durant and George have shared a similar path this season. Both players are coming back from serious injuries that forced them to miss major time last season. Although Durant’s injury was not as gruesome as George’s, both had a tough road to recovery to get back to where they are today.

Each of them are playing like the MVP candidates they are and carrying their teams to winning records.

Playing in opposing conferences, these two stars only get to play against each other twice a year and have yet to meet up in the Finals. In the six matchups between PG-13 and KD, Durant has the series edge 4-2. Durant has dominated this individual matchup in scoring, putting up 33.3 points per game compared to George’s 15.5.

The first four games of the series came before George lit the league on fire during the 2012-13 season in which he won the Most Improved Player award, so the numbers are a bit skewed because of this. However, George has still held his own for most of their contests, putting up seven rebounds and 1.8 steals per game to go along with his consistent scoring output.
