Top Four Shooting Guards

  1. James Harden, Houston Rockets ($10,800) vs. Sacramento
  2. Zach LaVine, Minnesota Timberwolves ($5,800) vs. Portland
  3. Jamal Crawford, L.A. Clippers ($4,200) vs. Orlando
  4. Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic ($5,600) vs. L.A. Clippers

Rationale:

  • Harden actually plays better (32.2 vs. 29.5 PPG overall) without rest between games and Sacramento is worst in the league vs. opposing SGs over its last 10 and their last five games.
  • As poorly has Sacramento has fared recently in this category, Portland is still worst overall. LaVine has been coming off the bench since Rubio’s return but he’s continuing to see upwards of 30 minutes per game.
  • Although Austin Rivers got the start against the Pacers, he only managed 10.9 fantasy points in 35 minutes while Crawford produced 23.7 off the bench. I assume coach Doc Rivers is trying to preserve the integrity of the rotation, but maybe he should take note of how Jason Kidd stopped trying to force the issue with Tyler Ennis in Milwaukee.
  • Fournier sneaks in for reasons similar to Payton, although the Clippers have been just average vs. opposing 2 guards over their past five games regardless.
