Coach of the Year

1. Luke Walton, Golden State Warriors (Last Week: 1, –)

Somehow, an interim head coach with no experience whatsoever at this level has the Golden State Warriors at 19-0 and playing better than they were at the end of last season. You know the drill.

Walton’s Win of the Week: 11/30, Golden State Warriors 106, Utah Jazz 103
Week Grade: A

2. Fred Hoiberg, Chicago Bulls (Last Week: 2, –)
Another solid week for Fred Hoiberg and the Chicago Bulls after going 2-1 with a killer, signature win against the San Antonio Spurs. With some super winnable games against the Denver Nuggets, Charlotte Hornets, and Phoenix Suns this week, the Bulls should have a great chance to finish 3-0, stay atop the Eastern Conference, and keep Hoiberg in the race for this honor.

However, Hoiberg is feeling some pressure from…

Holberg’s Win of the Week: 11/30, Chicago Bulls 92, San Antonio Spurs 89
Week Grade: A

3. David Blatt, Cleveland Cavaliers (Last Week: –, Up 1)
Perhaps (probably) overdue, David Blatt finally makes an appearance on this list after winning the Eastern Conference’s Coach of the Month for November and the Cleveland Cavaliers are in first place at 13-5.

That alone is impressive, but when you consider that Blatt has worked this magic without Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert, that’s more than enough to warrant him a spot here on the list.

We’re counting down the days until the next Bulls-Cavaliers matchup, but for now, Blatt is in full-on attack mode against the rest of the NBA, so highlighting the second-year coach is more than dignified.

Blatt’s Win of the Week: 11/28, Cleveland Cavaliers 90, Brooklyn Nets 88
Week Grade: A
