Top 10 Moments Of Jason Richardson’s NBA Career
8. Nine Threes
One of the most underrated elements of Jason Richardson’s game was his efficiency from three-point range. A career 37 percent shooter from beyond the arc, J-Rich worked hard to become a high volume three-point shooter. In 2007-08, for example, Richardson led the league in three-pointers made and attempted, converting at a 40.6 percent clip.
By the time he joined Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic, he was a bonafide 3-and-D player, where the “D” that had once stood for “dunk” now stood for “defense.” In a game against the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2011-12 season, Richardson broke his own personal best for three-pointers made in a single game, drilling nine of his 11 attempts from downtown.
J-Rich finished with 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting, willing the Magic to victory on the road with his unrelenting three-point barrage. For a player who had drilled eight threes in a game once before (and seven threes on multiple other occasions), this was a throwback night for the aging Richardson.
