Utah Jazz: 5 Players That Could Have Breakout Seasons
1. Trey Burke
Be cautious saying that Trey Burke is a better player than Dante Exum. In the mean streets of Utah, you might get cut.
Most people would say that the much maligned Burke hasn’t played exceptionally well in his first couple seasons. But can you describe someone that has averaged double-figure points in his first pair of seasons as a bust?
Nevertheless, regardless if you believe Burke is a bust or think he’s a future starting point guard (I belong in the latter group) he’s primed to have a breakout year. With Exum injured, Burke is expected to start and to make the big jump from his second year to his third year that many people want to observe.
Unjustly, this could be a make-or-break season for Burke and he’ll have to once again demonstrate his value to this franchise. Burke, though, is one of those people who responds extremely well to pressure. Look for him to have a big season.
