Dwyane Wade is still having issues with Pat Riley and the Miami Heat front office. Essentially, Wade wants to get paid the money he thinks the franchise owes him (they do), especially after taking a pay cut last year in the aftermath of the LeBron James departure.

Riley and the rest of the organization, on the other hand, want Wade to take another lesser contract as they try to rebuild the team and whip it back into winning shape. To them, it’s just business.

Both sides of the argument having valid points to make, but neither have yet come to a conclusion on how to make things work in Miami. It’s clear Wade wants to remain a Heat for life, but there is a small chance that might not happen.

If he does decide to leave, where would he go? There have been reports that the Lakers (of course) are interested in Wade’s services and that the two parties have “mutual interest” (don’t you just love that saying?).

Another option is none other than the Cleveland Cavaliers, who would also be a place of interest for Wade. Why, you might ask?

Well …

Reunite with LeBron

Wade would have the chance to once again team up with his superstar pal and best buddy LeBron James. It’s obvious that James would be thrilled to have Flash join him in Cleveland, as he loves surrounding himself with friends on his roster (i.e. Mike Miller, James Jones).

Wade already has chemistry with James (FLYING DEATH MACHINE) and the two know how to win a title together, which leads to …

Chance for a Ring

Obviously, this is the main reason Wade would make a move to Cleveland. If he decides he wants to win more than anything and isn’t willing to wait to see what the Heat can put together over the next while, joining the Cavs is the best chance he was at winning another championship.

The major rift here is that Wade seems to be looking for money more than a chance at winning at this point. He’s already got three chips and doesn’t need to win any more to validate his career at this point.

Still, having the Cavs dangled in front of you is tough to say no to. Certainly Cleveland will try to acquire Wade and certainly they will appeal to his competitive side, which we all know is extremely intense.

And if you’re Wade, wouldn’t you like having one more shot to show what you’ve got in The Finals after your last time there you vanished and played a major part in costing your team the title?

Spite Riley

This would be hilarious. If Wade was to leave the Heat, where could he go that would anger Riley more than anything? Cleveland.

After Riley’s shots at LeBron when The King decided he was going home, how could it not rattle him if Wade left Miami to reunite with his former teammate in a different city?

Comedy gold. This probably isn’t very high on Wade’s list of priorities, but I bet you anything it’s lingering in the darkest parts of his mind somewhere.

Can Play Fewer Minutes

The Cavs will likely re-sign one of Iman Shumpert or J.R. Smith. Bringing Wade on board with at least one of those two guys creates an interesting situation.

Wade will want to start, of course. So let him start, play him a few important minutes, then glue his buns to the bench until the fourth quarter every night while giving the younger player a run.

The following is meant to be read in a whispering voice: Oh and, just so you know, D-Wade, you will literally have to never worry again about the scoring load. Like, ever. Also, wanna buy a watch?

Wade can play a Paul Pierce-with-the-Wizards type of role in Cleveland. He can play very few minutes and in crunch time will be given opportunities to help win games.

Just think of this starting lineup: Kyrie Irving, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Kevin Love and Timofey Mozgov.

That lineup is just scoring forever and playing zero defense. What a ride that’ll be.

I really want this to come to fruition, mostly because I’m a sick individual and I love chaos. But c’mon, don’t you wanna see this team put up 150 points a night?!

Flash is now 33 years old. Multiply that by two when his knees are acting up. He’s not the asset he once was, but he’s still a valuable contributor in this league when right.

If I had to guess, I’d say things pan out for him in Miami and he remains a Heat lifer. But man, would it ever be fun and twisted to see him put on a Cleveland uniform.

I suppose I’ll leave you with these immortal words from Jim Carrey.
