New Orleans Pelicans: 5 Best Options to Replace Monty Williams
3. Mark Jackson
As an analyst, Mark Jackson became one of the most respected minds in the NBA. As a head coach, he won over a large population of the basketball community for his infectious influence in the huddle.
The Golden State Warriors seem to be doing well without him—67-15, to be specific—but Jackson undoubtedly deserves another shot at coaching.
Jackson went 23-43 in his first season in Golden State, but quickly turned things around. The Warriors went 47-35 the next season for a miraculous 24-win turnaround, and went 51-31 in 2013-14.
If nothing else, Jackson is a coach whom players respect and opposing offenses fear.
Jackson gets his players motivated and sets the foundation for elite defensive play. There’s no telling if he’ll be interested in coaching the Pelicans, but having the chance to guide Anthony Davis into superstardom is an intriguing sell.
If Jackson is interested, he will be considered.
