LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland Trail Blazers

At the power forward slot, there are few better scoring options than LaMarcus Aldridge. In fact, only Anthony Davis (24.4 points per game) out did Aldridge (23.4) in that category at his position.

An additional strength of the Blazers’ big man is his rebounding. He finished tied for eighth in the league with 10.2 rebounds per game. Normally, being an elite scorer and bona fide 20-10 guy is enough to put you in the conversation for tops at your position, at least in the real world of basketball.

The problem with Aldridge is that he doesn’t have all that much depth to his stat sheets other than the excellent scoring and rebounding. Really, he’s like the antithesis to the next guy on this list (Paul Millsap) in that regard. If you draft Aldridge, you could witness a 40-point, 15 -rebound game any single night in your favor.

What you probably won’t see are extended offerings in assists, steals, blocks, and three-pointers.

But, in the second round that’s OK. You can invest in LaMarcus Aldridge with confidence understanding that you are getting one of the best scorers in the game, and also knowing that he’s able to grab boards with the best of them as well. Just know that’s probably all you’re getting on most nights.
