No matter how poorly they’ve played or how many injuries they’ve endured, the Minnesota Timberwolves are in an excellent position. Even with the likes of Kevin Martin, Shabazz Muhammad, Nikola Pekovic and Ricky Rubio battling injuries, the T-Wolves have managed to build a significantly brighter future than they had before. That all starts with Gorgui Dieng, Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins. Dieng continues to progress as a defensive player and an offensive asset. The two rookies, LaVine and Wiggins, have turned flashes of brilliant play into consistently strong performances. LaVine average 21.1 points over the last eight games and Wiggins put up 20.0 points per after the All-Star Break. Thus, the Timberwolves have begun to develop their star scorers of the future.
