Three-Point Shooting

On the season, Iguodala is shooting 36.0 percent from three-point territory, the second highest mark of his 11-year career. Getting so many open looks from an excellent offense that’s predicated on ball movement certainly helps in that regard, but since the All-Star break, Iguodala is shooting 43.1 percent from downtown.

In his years with the Philadelphia 76ers (and even the one season he spent with the Denver Nuggets), it sometimes felt like Iguodala was as likely to hit the backboard or air ball a three-pointer as he was to swish it. Lately, it’s just been a lot of swishes:

As you can see, Iggy likes to take his three from the extended elbows and is knocking them down at an insane 48 percent clip. A small sample size, perhaps, but the Warriors have played 18 games since the All-Star break.

Iguodala is just one cog in the unstoppable machine that is Golden State’s offense, but if he can continue to spread the floor and make defenses pay for picking their poison by leaving him open, the Warriors are going to be virtually impossible to defend in the playoffs.
