3. He’s a Willing Defender

Everyone’s got to get it where they fit in and Elijah Millsap understands his role on the Utah Jazz. Firstly, anytime when Millsap checks into the game his role is going to become guarding his man and making sure that the player he’s guarding doesn’t have a big night against him.

In the small sample size that we’ve seen from Millsap we can say thankfully he’s a pretty good defender. Defense is more about effort than it is about quickness and Millsap plays with a lot of effort defensively.

In the six games he’s played in he’s already recorded seven steals and four blocks. In addition in two of those games he’s had multiple steals.

Standing at 6’6″ and weighing 215 pounds, Millsap has the size to guard most shooting guards in the league, and even has the versatility to guard some small forwards.
