Pro: He’s Still Very Young

More from Hoops Habit

New Orleans Pelicans fans could probably tell you better than most, but anyone who’s watched Austin Rivers play over the last two and a half seasons knows we’re not talking about a future All-Star here. Rivers holds career averages of 6.9 points and 2.3 assists per game and is a 39.0 percent shooter.

That being said, he’s still only 22 years old. It’s a little discouraging he hasn’t found his niche in the NBA yet, but it’s worth pointing out that Rivers’ career is nowhere near over just yet. Isn’t there a chance we’ve been a little too quick to jump the gun on calling him worthless?

Even if he does wind up being a bust, Rivers is still far too young to give up on completely.
