1. More Consistency From Channing Frye

One of the best squad players in the entire league last season with the Phoenix Suns, Channing Frye has struggled to replicate his form on the East Coast. He’s scoring only 8.2 points a game, and while he is stretching the floor for teammates like he’s supposed to, he’s found adapting to the Magic’s system difficult at times.

Defensively he’s not giving you a ton, although he wasn’t brought in to do that.

Perhaps surprisingly though, his three-point shooting percentage is up on the last year (42 percent) and is currently his second-best season ever as a professional shooting from beyond the line. So he’s still quietly adding to this team, it’s just more was expected from him.

A great veteran to have in any locker room, it is now about being more consistent on the court. With Tobias Harris, Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic forming a nice young core, if Frye could just do a bit more on the court, the Magic would have a few weapons with which to harm opponents.

The hope is that a new year will bring better play from him.
