5. Monta Ellis, Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks brought in small forward Chandler Parsons in free agency this past offseason, and many thought that Monta Ellis might not get the type of looks that he would like. Despite those concerns, he has been used very well and has fit into the system quite nicely. Ellis is one of the more prolific scorers from the shooting guard position in the league, but he has also stepped up his passing since joining the Mavericks.

So far this season, Ellis has averaged 20.6 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game, while also recording 1.4 steals per game. He has shot 46.8 percent from the floor overall and 31.3 percent from behind the three-point arc. The Mavericks have been asking Ellis to score a lot in the fourth quarter, and he has done an excellent job of helping them close out games when they put the ball in his hands.

There are plenty of players that pushed Ellis for this spot, but in the end he has put Dallas on his shoulders multiple times and powered them to wins.
