5. Damian Jones – Vanderbilt Commodores/C

Stat Line: 27 minutes, 21 points, (6-of-12), nine rebounds and one steal.

Damian Jones is one of the best centers in college basketball. He’s a raw talent that is still developing and getting better by the game. In the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, Baylor had to face against Vanderbilt at home. The Commodores lost the game 66-63 but Jones was a huge factor for why they were in the game. Late in the game he made two free throws to cut the lead to two with 15 seconds on the clock.

Jones finished the game with 21 points and nine rebounds. Regardless of the loss to Baylor, Jones and Vanderbilt are going to have a great season. Better yet, what Jones did was let everyone know that he’s one of the best centers in the SEC, and in college basketball. As long as Vanderbilt feeds Jones in the post more than they shoot three-pointers then they will get back on track and start winning soon.
