Kobe Bryant: Top 10 Best Career Performances
By Sam Richmond
March 22, 2007 — Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies
60 points, five rebounds and four assists in 45 minutes
The 2006-07 Lakers basically consisted of Kobe, Lamar Odom and no one else of value.
This led to some of the most incredible scoring performances that we’ve seen in the modern era from Kobe. Among those: Bryant’s 60-point outing against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Bryant lit up Memphis by shooting 20-for-37 from the field, 3-of-7 from 3 and 17-for-18 from the free-throw line.
This game is simply another example of Kobe at his most dominant. He just kept on attacking and attacking, doing whatever he could to help Los Angeles come away with the 121-119 win.
Amazingly enough, this was Bryant’s third straight game of at least 50 points (we’ll get to the first game of this streak in a bit), putting him in a class with just Elgin Baylor, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. Bryant ultimately extended the streak to four, giving him the second longest streak in league history behind Chamberlain.
