Kobe Bryant: Top 10 Best Career Performances
By Sam Richmond
March 28, 2003— Washington Wizards at Los Angeles Lakers
55 points, five rebounds and three assists in 41 minutes
Kobe’s final career meeting with Michael Jordan is one to remember.
Bryant put on a scoring clinic right in front of the greatest of all time, pouring in 55 points by shooting 15-of-29 from the field, 9-for-13 from 3 and 16-of-18 from the line. He scored a remarkable 42 first-half points, breaking a team record previously held by Elgin Baylor.
At one point, Kobe made nine straight shots and scored 23 straight points for Los Angeles. Talk about being in the zone.
But considering Bryant’s penchant for stepping up in big games, one shouldn’t at all be surprised he showed out in his final battle with MJ.
While not nearly as effective as Kobe, Jordan, at 40, scored 23 while shooting 50 percent from the field.
